SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Sunday slammed authorities for re-arresting party chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi, general secretary Nahida Nasreen and press secretary Sofi Fehmeeda, who were released on bail on Saturday.
In a statement, DeM spokesperson Rifat Fatima said the trio was released on bail by the court but they were taken to Soura police station and later on shifted to Rambagh police station.
She said the detention is “illegal” and no information about the fresh detention has been provided to family members or party by police. “Jammu and Kashmir is under Jungle Raj as it has been turned into a police state. India and JK government must understand that such tactics have not and can never force us from resisting against this illegal occupation,” she said.
Rifat said the “illegal” detention and denial of medical facilities have taken a huge toll on the health of Aasiya Andrabi as she was already suffering from multiple ailments.
She appealed people to pray for the recovery of DeM chief whose health is deteriorating with each passing day.
