SRINAGAR: To review the refund process of GST, Minister for Finance, Labour and Employment Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday chaired a meeting here.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Finance, Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, President Federation of Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK), Mohammad Ashraf Mir, FCIJ Lalit Mahajan and other representatives of business fraternity.
According to a handout, various issues concerning business and manufacturers of the state and the refund process of GST were discussed. The provisional refund of GST shall be paid till the proper networking system was put in place, it read.
The reservation of items being manufactured by local industry and price preferences for the products being manufactured locally were also discussed in the meeting.
The minister assured the members of FCIK and FCIJ that the government would promote local industry and that it would “take all possible steps to boost local industry”.
Bukhari said the government “will stick to industry policy and as per guidelines issued by finance department”, the handout added.
