SRINAGAR: The incarcerated vice chairman of Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Yousuf Mir was on Wednesday brought from Central Jail Srinagar to Forest Court for the hearing of a case lodged against him.
A spokesperson of the League in a statement said that Mohammad Yousuf Mir was produced at Forest Court where after hearing the arguments, the judge fixed the next hearing on 30 May 2018.
After hearing, Mir was taken back to Central Jail Srinagar, the spokesperson said, adding, “Government sets new policies and methods for his continued imprisonment under baseless cases, which is highly condemnable.”
He said that prolonging the “illegal” detention, shifting him from one jail to another, booking him in “false” cases shows frustration of authorities.
“The policy adopted by the puppet government through which he is being moved from one police station to another cannot break his will and courage,” the spokesperson said.
