KCCI seeks 45-days amnesty extension on taxes

‘Govt to examine issue for further extension’

SRINAGAR: To discuss and seek extension of amnesty on demand of taxes and interest/penalty thereon as granted earlier under Government Order No.: 39 FD 2018, Dated: 05-02-2018A, a delegation of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) led by its president, Javid Ahmad Tenga on Monday called on Finance Minister, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari.
The minister, convinced with the reasoning given by the delegation for the extension, assured and instructed the Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Jammu and Kashmir Government, Navin Chowdhary to “examine the issue for a further extension of the amnesty by 45 days”.
The delegation accordingly called on the principal secretary to discuss the matter with him. Chowdhary also assured that “the issue will be addressed on priority”. The delegation thanked finance minister for considering the issue favourably.
