SRINAGAR: Civil Defence Srinagar organized one day awareness programme cum debate competition on drug abuse at Rahi Public School Gund Hassi Bhat, Lawaypora in Srinagar on Monday.
Experts from various departments, social organisations, civil defence wardens and staff members took part in the programme and expressed their views on the topic “Drug abuse is preventable behaviour & drug de-addiction is a treatable disease”.
President, Private Schools Association Kashmir G N Var, Dy Controller CD Srinagar Nighat Amaan, Principal Government High Secondary School Gund Hassi Bhat M M Gulzar, B A Shah PRO PSA, prominent social activists Sirajudin Salam, Dr Hillal Ahmed, Mehjabeen Bhat and Imran Khan from Bharat Scouts and Guides were present in the day long programme.
Later, a debate competition was held in which students of Scholars School Natipora Srinagar, Imamiya Model School Yall Pattan, Nice Public School Singapore Pattan, Islamic Educational Institute Lawaypora Srinagar, Sun Shine Public School Khoshipora HMT, Holy Faith Public School Sozaith and Rahi Public School took part.
Rahi Riyaz Ahmed Divisional Warden Civil Defence Srinagar was the chief organizer of the day long programme.
