Shopian: Police has arrested two brothers during midnight raids in Nadpora village of Shopian and said the two were involved in stone pelting on vehicles.
Residents of the village said that at midnight (12 o clock) a police party raided the house of Sana-ul-llah Bhat at Nadpora and arrested his two sons, Nadeem Ahmad Bhat and Shahbaz Ahmad Bhat. Both the brothers are reportedly college students.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Shailandra Kumar Mishra told Kashmir Reader that the arrested youth were “stone pelters”.
“They were involved in pelting stones on vehicles,” Kumar said. “We are ascertaining the case and after completion we will tell about their involvement in school bus stoning incident.”
A stone bus was attacked by stones in Shopian district last week injuring two school children. One of them was referred to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The incident was widely condemned by pro-India politicians and resistance leadership as well.
