Nocturnal gunfight breaks out in Pulwama village

Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants at a village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during last night.
Official sources told GNS that a joint team of 55 RR, SOG and CRPF conducted cordon at village Chinar bagh, Mohalla Takya in Barpora Pulwama.
The cordon was launched following specific inputs about the presence of some militants, police sources said.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants too opened fire triggering off a gunfight, the they said.
When reports last came in the intermittent firing was going on.
