SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Friday termed the recent statement by Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat that ‘Azadi was not possible as youth can’t fight army’ as his “frustration”.
DeM spokesperson Rifat Fatima in a statement said, “History is witness to the fact that the materialistic resources or numbers in terms of men and machinery do not determine the fate of the war between the oppressor and the oppressed. But it is the steadfastness on the true path by the oppressed that helps them break the chains of slavery and oppression.”
She said such statements only boost the morale of the “mujahideen” and the people of JK and this struggle will carried forward with renewed zeal and passion.
“In 2016, when India launched the so-called Operation All-Out in Kashmir, (Army chief) Rawat had said that armed struggle will end by 2017 and then again in 2017, he set the deadline to 2018. But now Rawat says that this is an unending process and has expressed his helplessness,” the spokesperson said. “In other words, he (Rawat) has acknowledged that the Indian military might has failed to crush the resistance movement in Kashmir.”
