Sumbal: A complete shutdown is being observed in the Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday to protest against the pellet firing by police on Thursday.
Witnesses said that Shopkeepers kept the shops closed to protest against the injuring of a trader after he was hit by pellets fired by police yesterday afternoon during clashes.
The Trader’s Federation Sumbal has announced that protest will continue until police lodge FIR against the accused policeman who fired pellets on innocent shopkeeper Abdul Rashid, now battling for eye sight at SKIMS.
It is pertinent to mention that Abdul Rashid (50) was selling street food on a cart near Sumbal bridge when he was hit by pellets in his eye,witnesses said.
