Shopian continuously shuts against killings

Srinagar: The southern district of Shopian is observing continuous shutdown on Wednesday against the latest civilian and militant killings.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that the district is observing shutdown since last 13 days barring a day’s break.
A civilian was killed in Turkewangam village of Shopian 13 days back after militants gave slip to the forces, local sources said
Later, Sameer Tiger and his associate were killed in Drubgam area of nearby Pulwama district.
Recently on Sunday last, five militants including Hizb commander, Saddam Paddar and university professor Rafi Ahmad and five civilians were killed at Badigam village of Shopian. One more among dozens of injured civilians succumbed at SMHS taking the overall death toll to 11.
All educational institutions of the district are closed while as public transport is off the roads.
Meanwhile, Pulwama town is also observing shutdown against the recent killings. sources said.
