SRINAGAR: The government has announced that all colleges and schools will remain shut on Monday across Kashmir Valley. Talking to a local wire service, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan said the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
Classes at Kashmir University shall remain suspended on May 7 and 8 (Monday and Tuesday). The varsity has also postponed all examinations scheduled to be held on these two days. Fresh dates shall be notified separately, later, a KU spokesperson said.
The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora has decided to suspend class work and suspend all examinations scheduled for Monday.
The Srinagar administration has imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in areas under 7 police stations on Monday: Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, MR Gunj, and partial restrictions in Maisuma and Kralkhud.
