BHADERWAH: Sunil Kumar Sharma and Shakti Raj Parihar on Saturday paid their maiden visit to Bhaderwah after their elevation as cabinet Minister and Minister of state, respectively
Accompanied by MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar, the Ministers addressed a large gathering after the local people accorded them a warm welcome and termed their elevation as a welcome step and hoped the change would bring a significant development of Chenab valley besides welfare of downtrodden sections of the area.
In his address, Sunil Kumar Sharma said that majority of population of Chenab region lives in rural areas and assured that the government will work round the clock to provide all the basic amenities to people at their doorsteps.
“The government intends to fully tap the huge potential of hydro power generation in the Chenab region and concrete efforts are being made to harness the same” he added and listed various projects being executed in the region.
He said the execution of new hydro power projects on river Chenab would generate employment opportunities for the local youth and on their completion resolve the problem of power shortage. He assured to upgrade power infrastructure to improve the power scenario across all the districts of the region.
Minister of state, Shakti Raj Parihar assured to work for all round development and promotion of tourism in Chenab region in general and Bhaderwah in particular adding that the place has a potential to emerge as a major tourist destination of Jammu region.
Parihar further said with his elevation as minister he has been given a huge responsibility and that he will do his best to come up to expectations of people .
He said that all the major tourist destinations of Bhaderwah shall be connected with roads and provided adequate infrastructure required to attract tourist from across the country. Terming Education as a key to development of the society, he urged the youth to strive for quality education and work with zeal to contribute towards country’s growth and make it corruption free.
MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Parihar also spoke on the occasion and reiterated his commitment to serve the people.
Counting numerous achievements made by the present govt., he informed that the work on proposed Chattragalla tunnel on Bhaderwah- Basholi would be started shortly and will be finished in a time bound manner.
