Shopian: Militants on Sunday afternoon offered gun salute to slain Adil Ahmad Malik at his ancestral village in Malikgund some 8 km’s away from Shopian.
Reports said that as the body of Adil reached his village, thousands of people who had assembled there raised intense pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.
Sources said that 3 masked gunmen appeared at the funeral prayers of the slain militant and fired some rounds in the air as a mark of respect to the slain.
Adil along with four other militants including top commander Saddam Padder, KU assistant professor Dr Muhammad Rafi, Bilal Mohand and Tauseef were killed by government forces in an encounter in Badigam village of Shopian district earlier today.
Besides, the government forces have also killed five civilians during clashes. The civilians were protesting the killing of militants.
Eariler, militants also appeared at the funeral prayers of Bilal Mohand in his village at Heff and offered gun salute to him.
