Located seven kilometres from town, transport a major problem for students
Charar-I-Sharief: Students and faculty of Government Degree College Chrari Sharief are demanding buses for the college that can ferry them at least to the main town.
The students said they face lot of problems, due to unavailability of transport facility in the college.
Established in 2012, the college is located some seven kilometers from the Chrari-Sharief town. Though the local transporters, they said, have been cooperative in increasing services to the area, the buses often remain crowded.
The college administration and the students said the government has been ignoring their demand for college buses.
“I feel very bad when students board overcrowded buses which can lead to any untoward incident,” Tabasum Rafiq, Principal of the college said.
The college authorities have taken up issue with higher ups, including the concerned MLA, but without any success.
“We have also forwarded application to the Hanjura Sb (MLA) about the transport facility which is our main problem but till date we have not received any response from his office,” she said.
One Thursdays and Fridays students face added problems because of huge rush on the route.
“We don’t get space in the bus mostly on important dates in Islamic calendar” a group of female students said.
The college authorities are appealing the authorities to respond to the “genuine demand”, “before any untoward incident” takes place.
