POONCH: The District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Friday held a brainstorming session with eminent educationists and academicians of the district to gather inputs about issues and problems which have hampered delivery of quality, value-based and goal oriented education.
He said this while addressing a meeting of eminent educationists and noted academicians having vast experience in the education field. The meeting was aimed to get suggestions on new initiatives, goals and plans, new policies and curriculum to be undertaken for improving quality of education in governments schools besides its supervisory and monitory role in functioning of the department.
The DDC while highlighting the objective of the meeting, said that there is an immense and indispensable need of invoking stakeholdership in education sector, with people having rich experience in the field to come up with suggestions/recommendations/corrective measures and ideas for improvement. He added that the notion that education can transform ordinary individuals into civilised, enlightened and tolerant citizens continues to be a distant dream, realisation of which will require concocted, well conceived and planned efforts from all stakeholders.
The participants while appreciating the innovative idea of District Administration in involving the learned educationists in improving education delivery in the district, shared their views regarding prevailing education scenario and way forward.
The meeting was attended by CEO Mushtaq Ahmad, Dy CEO, all ZEOs, Principal of various Higher Secondary Schools, Principal DIET besides top notch educationists like KK Kapoor Rtd Dy CEO, Jagbir Singh Rtd Principal, Nazir Hussain Qureshi Rtd Lecturer, Shambu Nath Khajuria Rtd Principal and others.
