Arrangements for Red Cross Day finalised

Deputy Commissioner Samba S Rajinder Singh Taraon Friday chaired a meeting to finalise preparations for celebration of Red Cross Day on May 8.
It was given out in the meeting that the theme of this year’s celebration is “Red Cross Everywhere for Everyone Smile.”
The DDC, also the Chairman of District Red Cross Society, discussed in detail the catalogue of activities to be taken up during Red Cross Day celebration. He also laid stress on motivating people to be active members of the society and help the people in distress and desolation due to food shortage, epidemic diseases or natural calamities.
He also directed Chief Education Officer to celebrate Red Cross Day at 16 cluster head of schools in which flag hoisting, symposium, paper reading contest will be held.

District Development Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria on Friday chaired a meeting to finalise preparations for celebration of Red Cross Day on 8th May.
The DDC, also the Chairman of District Red Cross Society, discussed in detail the catalogue of activities to be taken up during Red Cross Day celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, he laid stress on motivating people to be active members of the Society to help the people in distress due to food shortage, epidemics or natural calamities.
The DDC also exhorted upon the officers to intensify membership drives so that maximum number of people can be sensitized regarding the activities of Red Cross Society for larger interest of humanity.
Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu, Dinesh Gupta briefed the meeting about the calendar of activities to be held like Symposium, Paper Reading Contest, Red Cross Pledge and Red Cross Prayer to mark the significance of Red Cross Day across various schools of the district. He also asked the Principals to ensure availability of First Aid Kits in all the schools and organize activities under Red Cross.
The Secretary further encouraged the Principals to help those students who are living under poverty and social exclusion by providing them books and school uniforms besides medical aid during exigencies.
Among others ACR, DEPO, Principals and other officers besides participants in large numbers were present during the meeting.
