SRINAGAR: Scores of Rehbar -E- Taleem teachers on Thursday held a protest demonstration here demanding release of their salary on the monthly basis and delinking it from from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
The teachers from various districts assembled here in press enclave under the banner af Jammu and Kashmr Rehbar E Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF).
“The irresponsible attitude of Government forces us to observe lockout of all middle and primary schools on 4th and 5th May 2018.The RET teaching community from all parts of the state will be marching to Summer Capital on 7th May on the eve of Darbar Move,” Faroog Ahmad Tantray, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmr Rehbar E Taleem Teachers Forum said.
“We do not want take these steps but the delay tactics of authorities force us to leave our education institutions and demonstrate on streets,” he added. The protesting teachers said that a candle light procession will be taken out to towards CM residence to press for their demands.
The protesters holding the placards and banners in their hands read, “delinking of SSA Salary” and ” We want Justice”. Faroog Ahmad Tantray, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmr Rehbar E Taleem Teachers Forum Said that more than forty one thousand Rehbar e Taleem teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) are without salaries from last three months and their families are passing through difficult situation due to financial constraints. The assurances of former Education Minister to regulate and streamline the SSA salaries turned hoax, “We are compelled to hit the streets for highlighting our plight. Our main demand is delinking of SSA salaries from Central MHRD plan and creating budgetary posts for SSA teachers under state’s nomal plan so that teachers under this scheme get salaries at the end of every month. We have to wait for months for the release of our dues and this adversely affects the academics in schools,” Tantray said.
