BARAMULLA: Government forces including army’s 46 RR and SOG of police launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Drangbal village, two kilometres from old town Baramulla, on Thursday evening. Sources said that forces had received information of presence of two militants in the area. Locals said that a large number of troops rushed towards the nearby hills where people of the area work in stone queries.
The forces also fired some warning shots towards the spot where they suspected militants to be hiding, but received no response. Locals said that later the forces had to run to take shelter in vehicles and at other dry places when it began to rain heavily.
