Srinagar: Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday condemned the killing of minor youth Amir Ahmad Kumar in Shopian by forces.
While paying rich tributes to Umar, Muslim League spokesman Sajad Ayobi in a statement said that government forces are carrying out the “genocide” in Kashmir.
Ayobi termed the killing “as worst example of barbarism”. He said that “the government forces have been tasked to kill the freedom aspirations of people living in the Kashmir Valley”. “Killing of minor without any reason speaks worst form of “state terrorism” and human rights violation,” he said.
“Under the garb of CASO, youth are being brutally killed and a huge population placed under siege, people harassed, property vandalised,” Ayobi said.
While condemning the use of force in Shopian during the gunfight, Ayobi said that the entire south Kashmir has been turned into a military garrison where shoot and sight orders have been ordered. “The indiscriminate firing on unarmed civilians speaks volumes of the armed forces’ frustration and colonial mind-set,” he said.
Ayobi urged international community and UNO to take cognizance of the bloodshed and human rights violation going in Kashmir.
