Man arrested for posting objectionable content on social media in Rajouri

Jammu: Police on Tuesday arrested a person for allegedly posting objectionable content on social media in Rajouri.
“A man has been booked and arrested after he shared a very sensitive and objectionable post on his Facebook account,” police said here on Tuesday.
They said that the accused identified as Shokat Ali, resident of Baroota Dyala, Kalakote, Rajouri and a case under section 153-A of RPC has been registered against him.
“He had shared a very sensitive post on his Facebook account on Monday, which hurt the sentiments of a particular community,” said police.
Soon after the matter come into the notice, a team immediately arrested the person and registered the case.
“We have advised people using social media networks to use social media as a platform of their personal as well as social development and not to turn it into a platform for spreading hatredness and becoming a major threat for peace and order in society,” said a police officer.
Police however, have also appealed parents and guardians to counsel their wards to use social media networks in a positive way and not to make it a cause of worry in society.
“Some local Facebook pages as well as WhatsApp groups are also under scanner where messages of hatredness are uploaded,” he added.
