SRINAGAR: Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS)on Monday condemned the statement of new deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta in which he has said that Kathua rape and murder case was a “small incident”.
According to a statement, a KCSDS spokesperson said the induction of Kavinder Gupta and other two BJP MLAs has “exposed” the government.
“How could PDP agree to make them part of the govt which is investigating and fighting the case of (Kathua rape and murder victim) Asifa and at the same time claim victory,” the spokesperson said. “The deputy CM has ‘mocked’ the rape victim and the induction of Kathua MLA has exposed the government.”
“It should be taken as the end of justice in this case under the government whose sole purpose is to politicise the case and take political gains,” the spokesperson added.
