SRINAGAR: Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday paid tributes to the courage and steadfastness shown by hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails in and outside valley.
In a statement issued here, League spokesperson Sajad Ayoubi said the sacrifices rendered by Masarat Alam Bhat, Dr. Shafi Shariati, Dr Muhammad Qasim, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Pir Saifullah, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Mohammad Yusuf Mir, Assudullah Parrray, Amir Hamza, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Hafeez Allah Mir, Shakeel Ahmed Bhat, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shahid Yousuf, Hakeem Showket, Mehrajiddin Nanda, Molvi Sajad, Fahmeeda Sofi, Nahida Nasreen, Fayaz Ahmad Talat, Basharat Ahmad, Ashiq Hussain, Mohammad Hayat Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Asif Ahmad, Rayees Ahamd Mir, Salman Yousuf, Sajad Ahmad Beigh, Mudasir Rashid, Manzoor Ahmad Parray, Irfan Ahmad Dar, Aqib Ahmad Mir, Ashiq Hussain Mir, Nasir Abdullah, Mohammad Iqbal Wani, Basharat Ahmad Salaam, Mufti Nadeem, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, and Molana Sarjan Barkati are praiseworthy.
“We are proud of these warriors for their commitment and dedication. Prisoners detained in several jails are living legends and icons (of) the resistance movement,” the spokesperson said and demanded release of all prisoners without any further delay.
The League spokesperson appealed the international rights bodies Amnesty International and other human rights organisations to “come to the rescue of these detainees and take notice of this lawlessness and (pay) attention towards this injustice with the detainees”.
