Inspects Jawahar tunnel, interacts with people
RAMBAN: Minister for Public Works, Naeem Akhtar on Sunday said the government is committed for overall development of the state and it has initiated various schemes and projects for providing better civic amenities to general public.
According to a statement, the minister visited Khari and Banihal Tehsil of Ramban district and addressed a public gathering there.
“Many mega projects are in progress in different parts of the district, which are playing a pivotal role for providing job opportunities to locals and facilitate overall development of area,” Akhtar said while addressing people.
The minister said the nature has bestowed Ramban district with abundant natural resources including mighty Chenab river, perennial streams, water bodies, forests which needed to be protected and preserved for future generations.
He said public needs to build consensus as to how they can rebuild their villages on modern lines. For this, the minister announced every possible help from government.
Earlier, the minister accompanied by DDC Ramban, inspected Jawahar tunnel and passed necessary directions to authorities for its maintenance and protection. He also took stock of progress on different road and other projects and directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the work.
Former Deputy Speaker, Sartaj Madani, MLC Firdous Tak and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
