Rs 4.69 cr being spent on B’pora town beautification plan

BANDIPORA: An amount of Rs. 4.69 crore is being spent on the execution of various developmental works in Bandipora town under newly formulated beautification plan, said District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai during his visit to the town on Saturday.
He said that Rs. 2.03 crore are being utilized for upgradition of Nishat Park, Rs.1.01 crore on the development of Gulshan Chowk and Gulshan Park, while as Rs 1.65 crore being incurred on the installation of solar street lights from DC Office to NHPC Headquarter Bandipora.
He also said a drainage plan of Rs.4.98 crore has been approved which will augment the network in the town.
On the occasion, various delegations met the DDC and apprised him of their demands. He listened to them patiently and assured people that their genuine demands will be considered on priority.
Earlier, he paid a surprise visit to Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora during which he inspected attendance register of the institution. He also interacted with the students and inspected ongoing work of additional block there. He directed the executing agency to speed up the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the building.
