Shutdown continues in Shopian to mourn youth’s killing

Srinagar: A complete shutdown continued in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday for second straight day to mourn the killing of a 22 year old student during a shootout in Anantnag on Thursday.
Shakeeb Shabir, son of Shabir Ahmad Shah was killed when militants opened fire on the forces in Anantnag’s Laizbal area. In the shootout, Shakeeb was hit by a bullet and lost his life.
Local sources said that all shops and other business establishments are closed in the southern apple town, while traffic is off the roads.
