Muslim League condemns arrests, nocturnal raids in Kulgam

SRINAGAR: Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Friday condemned the arrest of dozens of youth during night raids in Keelam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A League spokesperson in a statement issued here said in the that night raids by police, Arif Ahmad Budroo, Nawaz Ahmad Wani, Mohammad Amin Parray, Nawaz Ahmad Hajan, Irshad Hussain Lone, Idrees Ahmad Padroo, Manzoor Ahmad Hajam, Zubair Ahmad Bhat and scores of others were arrested from Keelam, Kulgam area.
He condemned the “unleashing of the reign of terror”, and said, “Forces has created a sense of insecurity among innocent youth and during nocturnal raids are arresting people on fabricated allegations.”
The spokesperson also condemned the alleged ransacking and vandalising of properties in Keelam Kulgam.
“Forces are hell bent on making situation explosive and for this, they are trying to create disturbances and uncertainty. This will add fuel to the fire,” he said.
Demanding immediate release of the youth, the League spokesperson has urged the human rights bodies to “take note of the situation and pressurise the Government of India to stop all types of human rights violations in Kashmir”.
