Srinagar: A trial court in Srinagar Friday restrained the prison authorities from shifting any of the under-trials in the DSP Ayub Pandit lynching case from Central Jail to other places, and directed for bringing back the ones moved out by jail authorities earlier.
The orders came after the defense counsel filed a contempt petition accusing the jail authorities of moving the under-trials in violation of court orders.
The court disposed off the petition after ordering for status quo/ante to be restored and three under-trials – Imran Nabi, Adi Siraj Misgar and Seerat-ul-Hassan – moved outside the valley to be brought back to Central Jail Srinagar.
The next hearing in the case has been listed for May 11.
