KATHUA: To take first hand appraisal of the ongoing activities under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a facilitation team from Government of India Thursday visited Maha, Budhi and Phalote villages of Kathua district.
The team comprising of Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Finance GOI Mandeep Kaur, Under Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs Hemant Verma along with Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria visited these villages.
The two member team having mandate to take stock of ground reach of the ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ participated in Gram Sabha proceedings and held interaction with the stakeholders.
During the gram sabhas, immunization tems of Health department, Electricity connection team of PDD, LED bulbs distribution team, team of Social Welfare department and Bankers were also present.
The teams of different departments imparted details of different schemes and programmes offered by respective departments. Works comprising Immunization, new electricity connection, LED bulb distribution and enrollment of Laadli Beti were also held during these gram Sabha’s.
While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Finance GOI Mandeep Kaur informed that the object of facilitation team was to take feedback from both the beneficiaries and implementing departments for its complete implementation. She appealed people to take maximum advantage of this opportunity at their door steps to take benefits of the welfare schemes. She also urged upon the officers and field functionaries to ensure no one shall be left out in these identified 19 villages.
On the occasion 9 gas connection were given to the beneficiaries.
A total of 19 villages falling under 7 blocks of Kathua district were identified for undertaking umbrella of activities under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ initiative of Government of India. The abhiyan took off across the country on 14th April 2018 will culminate on 5th May 2018 includes seven flagship programmes. They are Swach Bharat Parv, Ujwala Panchayat, Panchayati Raj Diwas, Gram Sakthi Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat, Kishan kalyan karyashala and Ajeevika Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
