Anantnag: Three people, including two policemen and a civilian, were injured Thursday evening after a hand grenade hurled by suspected militants exploded outside police station Kulgam, here in this south Kashmir town.
The injured- Special Police Officers Sajad Ahmad, Azad Ahmad and the civilian Muhammad Akbar Ganaie – were immediately evacuated to the District Hospital in Kulgam.
The attack took place at around 8:20pm.
“Militants hurled a grenade at the police station, which exploded right outside the station gates,” a senior police official from Kulgam told Kashmir Reader.
He said that three people were injured and were shifted to the hospital.
“Their medical bulletin is awaited,” the official said.
The area, following the explosion, was cordoned off by a contingent of government forces.
Searches were being conducted to try and nab the attackers, while this report was being filed.
