Baramulla: The two Pakistani militants of the Lashkar who were killed in an encounter in a forest area of Tral were buried at about 2am in the night at the Gantamulla graveyard along the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad national highway. About a dozen people along with some policemen were present and offered funeral prayers. They said that bodies of both the militants were brought at midnight to the graveyard and they were buried at about 2am of Wednesday.
The militants were buried in two of the four graves that had been dug on April 1, when 13 militants were killed by government forces in south Kashmir. Gravediggers had been asked by police to dig graves in this Gantamulla graveyard where non-local militants have been buried by police since 2016. But when all the 13 slain militants turned out to be locals, the four graves dug here were left empty.
Two of those graves are still lying empty.
Abu Dujana among 81 non-local militants have been buried in this graveyard since it began to be used. Most of those militants were buried during night hours to avoid any protests or gathering of civilians.
