Srinagar: Society of consultant doctors J&K (SCD) in an emergency meeting on Wednesday attended by their president Dr Nazir Wani, Dr Masood Rashid general secretary, Dr Irfan Ul Shamas and Dr Wasim vice-presidents) and other office bearers fully supports the call of DAK for availing gazetted holidays from 30th April 2018.
“The issue of two and half day salary for doctors is a long pending issue which doctors across the state have been pleading for but unfortunately has fallen onto deaf ears,” SCD said in a statement.
“Doctors have been disappointed by the recent 7th pay commission order wherein no special benefit has been announced for doctors as has been announced for KAS officers and other cadres,” SCD said.
SCD also denounces the authoritarian orders from BMO’s, medical superintendents and CMO’s who have been issuing orders pertaining to policy matters beyond their domain of power. SCD appeals all doctors to follow the programme given by DAK in letter and spirit till the issue is not solved as per the interests of doctors as whole.
