RAJOURI: Department of Arabic organised Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BDSBU) one-day seminar on ‘Arabic and Urdu Short Story: Art and Techniques’. Academicians from different colleges and universities of the state, students, research scholars, and teachers of the varsity participated in the seminar.
Vice Chancellor, BGSBU Prof Javed Musarrat stressed upon the need of starting spoken Arabic programme for students and employees of the university. He thanked the scholars for visiting BGSBU and invited them for regular interactions with students and scholars, a handout read.
He said, “BGSBU is committed in promoting art, culture and languages for the overall development of human society as a whole.”
Prof Muzaffar Hussain Nadwi presented his thoughts on ‘Arabic Language and Literature in the State of Jammu and Kashmir’. He presented the historic background of Arabic language in Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted the present scenario in terms of manpower and infrastructure available in the state as far as Arabic language and literature is concerned. He highlighted the contribution of Kashmiri scholars in the promotion of Arabic language and literature.
Dean School of Languages, Prof M G M Malik expressed his views about the universal acceptance of Arabic language and literature. He said that literature in any Language opens up new vistas of life.
