JAMMU: In order to sensitise the women beneficiaries about the benefits of the schemes being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir State Women’s Development Corporation (JKSWDC), a mega awareness camp-cum-loan mela was organised at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhalwal which was sponsored by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
600 women beneficiaries participated in the camp amongst whom loan application forms as well as pamphlets were distributed, a handout read.
The camp was inaugurated by Managing Director, Women’s Development Corporation, Dr Naheed Soz, who highlighted various activities and achievements of Women’s Development Corporation which has immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women.
She laid thrust on the importance of the products and its market availability through the exhibitions conducted by WDC within and outside the state and requested participants to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of WDC for their self reliance. In addition to the schemes, Managing Director also threw light on the issues related to the rights of women, health, nutrition, female feticide, Beti Bachao Beti Padeao, domestic violence, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and skill development programs, it added.
