GANDERBAL: The highway linking the Ladakh region with Kashmir valley remained closed for the fourth day on Monday.
Officials said that the Traffic remained suspended on 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh national highway for the fourth day today due to accumulation of snow and slippery road condition.
Officials said that owing to heavy snowfall in Zojila and Drass areas on Thursday evening to Friday night last week, followed by number of snow slides on Sonamarag-Drass stretch, traffic movement continues to remain shut on the highway.
Officials said that the snow clearance process was started on Saturday morning from both ends of the highway, at Sonamarag and Drass sides, by BRO and VIJAYAK respectively.
A BRO official said that a number of snow slides in Zojila area were cleared from the road.
