SRINAGAR: Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the prolonged detention of party’s zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal who is lodged at police station Kothi Bagh since past many days.
“Noor sahib was today again presented before court which extended his remand for five more days. He has been again shifted to police station Kothi Bagh,” Malik said in a statement.
He condemned the spree of arrests, nocturnal raids, slapping of PSA on political activists and other “oppressive” tactics of police.
“Police has actually declared a war on peaceful activists and resistance camp and young boys are being pushed to the wall, which is actually act of promoting violence in Kashmir and highly condemnable,” he said.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman expressed his heartfelt grief over the demise of the wife of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Ghulam Mohammad Safi. Paying tributes to the departed soul, Malik said her contribution to resistance movement will always be remembered. He prayed for her heavenly abode and forbearance to the bereaved family.
