Ganderbal: A policeman sustained minor injuries in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday after the students clashed with the government forces, who were protesting against the rape and murder of Kathua minor.
The students of Govt Degree College Ganderbal boycotted their class in the afternoon and staged protests and demanded justice for the eight-year-old girl and raised slogans against the rapists.
Amid pro-freedom and anti-India sloganeering the students came out of the college gate and blocked Ganderbal-Shalbugh road outside the college.
However, the deployed forces foiled the blockade, triggering clashes in the area.
Protesting students pelted stones on the government forces who retaliated with counter stones pelting.
A policeman identified as, Constable Aqib Ali sustained minor injuries in his teeth after hit by a stone, sources said.
