SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar to mourn the demise of a noted cardiologist Dr Sajad Reshi who breathed his last today at Beehama Ganderbal after a prolonged illness.
Expressing profound grief over the death, DAK president Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Terming the death as irreparable loss, Dr Nisar said the medical fraternity has lost a gem of a person in the demise of Dr Sajad.
“Born in Reshi Bazar Kralteng area of Anantnag, Dr Sajad was a man of impeccable integrity. He passed his MBBS from GMC Srinagar and after completing his MRCP from United Kingdom started his practice as an interventional cardiologist in Kashmir. He was instrumental in starting interventional cardiology in the valley and made differences in lives of hundreds of patients. He was a compassionate and an empathetic doctor because of which he was very popular among patients,” Dr Nisar said.
Paying tributes to Dr Sajad, DAK president said the demise has left a great void in the field of medicine. “His contributions in the field of medicine will be remembered for a long time,” he said.
Terming the deceased as a noble soul, Dr Nisar said Dr Sajad always stood a helping hand to the needy and poor. “He will be sorely remembered by everyone whose lives he touched,” he said.
