Kangan: The students of Industrial Training Institute College Kangan (ITI) on Thursday staged a peaceful protest march in Kangan to demand justice for the eight-year-old Kathua girl who was raped and murdered earlier this year.
Dozens of students including Girl students marched from the college campus to the Jamia Market Kangan and staged sit on Main Chowk Kangan for some time without disturbing traffic movement in the area.
The students were demanding strict action against the accused in the case.
“We want an exemplary punishment to the culprits so that no one in future dares to commit such a heinous crime” said Irfan Ahmad Rather, one of the protesting students.
Officials told Kashmir Reader that it was a peaceful protest of students which started from the ITI campus and they returned to the campus peacefully.
