SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the “brutal” use of force on the students including girls and children at Srinagar, Anantnag, Tral, Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla, Ganderbal and elsewhere both inside and outside the premises of their educational institutions in which dozens of students were grievously injured.
“Tear gas shells, Pava shells and baton charge was carried out against students protesting the heinous crime against little Asifa of Kathua,” a spokesperson of the amalgam said in a statement. “Using force against students protesting the crime instead of providing them space and opportunity to express their feelings and put up their demands, as is normal elsewhere, is extremely unfortunate and reflects the vengeful mindset of authorities.”
He said senior leader of the conglomerate Mukhtar Ahmed Waza visited the district hospital Anantnag to inquire about the injured children, and strongly condemned the use of “brute” force by government forces.
