NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind is arriving in Jammu on Wednesday to address the 6th convocation of Mata Vaishno Devi University at Katra. He will also attend a civic reception at Amar Mahal, Jammu and visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, before returning to Delhi, an official spokesman said here.
Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh, visited the Hari Singh Palace on Tuesday to take stock of the arrangements for the upcoming visit of President.
Singh directed for maintaining close coordination among various departments including the security officials to ensure a successful visit. He said the cultural items to be presented should reflect the rich culture and heritage of the State in a proper perspective giving equal preference to every region
Reviewing traffic plan for the event, Singh directed the officers to ensure that that common may not face any inconvenience due to the arrangements being made for the VVIP’s visit.
