SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Tuesday said that New Delhi is trying to divide Kashmir into smaller fragments and groups.
“New Delhi and its stooges in the form of pro-India politicians have been and are constantly trying to divide Kashmir into small fragments and groups. They are trying to split us in the name of creed, religion, language and region and an example of this divide is Kangan area where people are being divided in the name of Gujjars and Kashmiris to serve the interests of the oppressor and forces,” Malik said while addressing a condolence gathering at Kangan.
To express solidarity, Malik visited the bereaved families of Kangan, where two youths were killed in forces’ firing recently.
While paying tributes to the slain youth Amir Hameed and Gowhar Ahmad, JKLF chairman said: “Our budding flowers are being trampled by Indian forces with impunity and no one seems to bother or feel any repulsion. Though Indian forces are directly involved in these killings but the responsibility lies on the shoulders of pro-India politicians who during every election ask for votes and after coming into power, they order killings of our loved ones.”
Malik said that these “hypocrites” belong to a pro-India party which recently came out in support of rapists and murderers of Asifa in Kathua. “But as they saw situation changing around, these politicians started candle marches and protests in favour of Asifa.”
He said that be it killing spree in Kashmir or case of Kuthua rape and murder case, these episodes have actually “exposed” the whole pro-India political class in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKLF chairman said that the elections in the sate only strengthen the military occupation, and are detrimental to the interest of Kashmiris in every manner and aspect. “The assemblies and parliaments that come into existence by these elections are actually responsible for providing a legal cover to killers of our sons like Amir and Gowhar and therefore we all should refrain from supporting and abetting these pro-India parties to save our dear and loved ones,” he said.
While condemning the Kangan killings, Malik said: “These cold blooded murders have yet again proved the fact that Indian bullets and pellets are only fired to kill and maim innocent Kashmiris.”
JKLF chairman said that in whole Kashmir our loved and budding flowers are sacrificing their lives for freedom of this subjugated nation. “These young boys and martyrs are our heroes and nation of Kashmir is indebted to them,” he said.
Malik said that the authorities claim democracy and freedom of speech, but the reality is that he had to travel secretly and reach kangan to express solidarity with the bereaved families.
After addressing gathering, Malik along with JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri were arrested and lodged at police station Ganderbal.
