Kathua rape & murder: Brariangan residents protest, demand justice

‘No trust in CBI probe’

Anantnag: Hundreds of people from Brariangan village in Anantnag, including women and children, held protest at the village, demanding justice for eight-year-old brutally raped and murdered in Kathua.
The residents also held a candle light protest at local Eidgah.
People held placards with messages, calling for justice in the case.
The residents said that Asifa and her family had a halt at Brariangan at Ramlachci.
“We demand justice for Asifa and want her assaulters to be given exemplary punishment,” said Beigh Fayaz, Chairman Auqaf Committee Brariangan, adding that they wanted speedy trial in the case.
He said that the people in the area do not trust CBI probe as they have already seen CBI probe in Pathribal case where no one has been made accountable despite passing of 20 years.
Talib Hussain Bajran, provincial president, All Tribal Coordination Committee told Kashmir Reader that they have been fighting for the justice in the Asifa’s case and would continue to do so till the culprits are punished.
