Congress playing dubious role: PDP

SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday launched a scathing attack against the Congress and other political parties in Jammu and Kashmir over playing “dubious” role in Kuthua rape and murder case.
“The dubious role being played by the Congress over the Kuthua case is condemnable and the party once again has proved beyond doubt that it is carrying on with its legacy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound,” PDP MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam said in a statement issued here.
Alam said that at a time when several leaders of Congress party in Jammu defended in open the people who committed the “heinous crime”, party’s leadership in New Delhi continues to project itself as peoples’ savoir. “The fact has been revealed that Congress party has left all moral grounds to claim its representative character as it has maintained a stoic silence about its leaders taking part in the pro-rape and murder rallies,” Alam said.
“The party chief has on record defended those who committed the heinous crime against an eight-year old little girl in Kuthua. If the central leadership of the Congress has a bit of morality left, it must crap whip against the persons in question,” Alam said.
PDP district president said that there are even those leaders of the Congress party in Kashmir who are maintaining a stoic silence over the shameful episode of Kuthua and didn’t even utter a word to ask the party leaders to stop defending the indefensible. “Earlier, these leaders were heard crying for the peoples’ wellbeing and then were seen changing sides. Present time was the litmus test for them in which they all failed miserably,” Alam said.
Alam further asked the Congress to stop playing the “politics of deceit and deception” saying the people all across have now become aware about its policies and measures.
