Srinagar: The J&K Wakaf Board is organizing “Shah-e- Hamdan Conference” on 22nd April 2018.
A statement said that the Conference, to be held at SKICC Srinagar will be presided over by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The statement added that the purpose of the Conference is to bring the focus contribution of Hazrat Amir-e-Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (R.A) in social, cultural and educational sphere among the youth in particular. The Conference will also seek to highlight the role of “Shah-e-Hamdan” in the propagation of Islam preachings in Kashmir
Meanwhile in the prelude to the conference, an essay writing competition among students of High / Higher Secondary Schools and Govt. Degree Colleges of different Districts of Kashmir Division was held today at Sultan-ul-Arifeen Wakaf Public Hr. Sec. School Kathidarwaza (Srinagar).
The themes chosen for Essay Writing were- Shah-e-Hamdan & the art and craft in Kashmir, Revolutionary effect of Shah-e-Hamdan on Kashmir Society
On this occasion, the Vice-Chairman Wakaf Board Nizamuddin Bhat said that a series of measures have been flagged to work out for a quality turn-around in Wakaf Schools and pitch up the medium of education as an instrument ofsocial change, over a period of time.
The statement said that apart from 8 Wakaf High / Higher Secondary Schools, 2 Degree Colleges and 2 Govt. Higher Secondary Schools from each District were invited to participate in the competition. The three student toppers in College category and first three toppers among school category will be awarded at the ensuing “Shah-e- Hamdan Conference” The other students who took part in the Essay Competition will be given Certificate of Participation at the said Conference.
