The town is the police district which has no traffic unit of its own. “Even after local bodies like trade federation, civil society and coordination committee have several times requested to authorities for a traffic unit but to no avail. But seeing Basant Rath in the town, locals felt a ray of hope that they waited for years,” said a local.
People from apple town were seen with mobile phone in their hands, making selfies and some were seen updating the same on social networking sites.
“Finally Basant Rath is in the town to overhaul the traffic mess and put end to the road encroachment menace by local shopkeepers and vendors,” reads a post on Facebook.

While Basant Rath was in the town to monitor the situation, all of a sudden the roads seemed clear and the local vendors were seen moving their carts away from the roads. Rath’s effect was clearly visible in the town.
