Student Exchange Programmes best opportunity for students to understand each other’s culture: MoS Education

SRINAGAR: Appreciating the Student Exchange Programme initiative by Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Department of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Tourism, Priya Sethi said that these kinds of programmes help the students in understanding each other’s culture. She expressed these views during the concluding ceremony of Student Exchange Programme held at SIE Kashmir, Bemina, Srinagar.
Union Secretary Ministry of Human Resources Development Anil Swarup was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address he said that I am very glad by the successful completion of this programme by Union Ministry of Human Resources Development and the Department of School Education, Jammu and Kashmir. He said that these types of programmes help the students in understanding culture and education system of each other and this will help in making the efforts of bringing new zeal in the Education sector. Talking about the ability and efficiency of the students of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that these students are excelling in every field and the efforts of the administrators and the officers heading the department are also appreciable.
In the beginning of the event, Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah in his address welcomed all the guests, teachers and students, and presented a brief account of the Education sector in the State. He said that the Department of Education under the leadership of Minister for Education Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari and Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi is taking innovative steps to provide better teaching learning facilities to the students. He stressed upon all the concerned to unite for the strong system so that the success lying in the Strong Education Sector is met. He thanked the Union Secretary MHRD Anil Swarup for his interest and efforts in promotion and strengthening of Education sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion students of the State and outside the State enthralled the audiences by presenting many cultural programmes, during which Union Secretary MHRD gave a standing ovation in appreciation of an award winning Qawaali presented by the students of Girls Higher Secondary School Nawakadal.
Union Secretary MHRD Anil Swarup and Additional Union Secretary MHRD Nigaar Fatima were honoured in traditional Kashmiri manner during which Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo and State Project Director SSA Abdul Rashid War were also present.
During the function some students from outside the state and students from Jammu and Kashmir shared their experiences during their tours in their peculiar style. At the end of the ceremony State Project Director RMSA Tufail Mattoo formally thanked all the guests on the occasion.
