SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party Youth President Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra on Friday hit out at the BJP, Congress and National Conference for inciting communal tensions in the state by rallying for the Kathua minor rape victim.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Parra said that the people from all the three parties were present in the rallies in Jammu that rallied in support of the Kathua rape victim.
Parra said that the Kathua gruesome incident did not happen in isolation and was perpetuated to polarize the state. He said: “It is a hate crime done to incite Hindu-Muslim tensions in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Parra said that the party is not going to tolerate the communal mindset of some of the coalition cabinet colleagues and that a strong action will be taken against such elements.
Accepting that the “pro-rapist” politics of some BJP leaders was giving serious blow to PDP’s expectations on Kashmir, Parra said that the time has come to give these communal elements a befitting response. “We cannot allow the pro-rape politics in Jammu and Kashmir. Such elements have to be taken to task and cornered,” he said.
“The party is holding a meeting on Friday and some important announcements are expected in this regard,” he said.
Parra concluded that the PDP cannot be party to anything which is against its commitments and conduct.
