Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief G.A. Mir on Friday said that Congress always stood for the justice to the minor victim of rape and murder, and demanded that it should be ensured that culprits get the exemplarily punishment.
In a statement JKPCC chief said that it is a most heinous and barbaric crime against the humanity in any society and falls under the category of rarest of the rare case.
Mir lauded the congress President Rahul Gandhi for the mid-night candle march to awaken the conscience of the nation over the series of incidents of crimes against women so that “we make this country safe and secure for the women”.
“It is the matter of great concern of all right thinking’s human being and the government must take urgent measures in this regard,” he said.
He said that B.S. Slathia is not holding any position in the party since last several years, and party has nothing to do with his views or stand on any issue as some people are deliberately trying to paint it for the vested political interests.
He also denied that any responsible leader of the party was in any manner involved with those carrying the agitation in Rasana Hiranagar, and said that the party believes in rule of law and any complaint in this regard would be looked into as per party norms.
