Youth planning grenade attacks on police stations arrested: police

Pulwama: Two policemen were injured after a grenade hurled by militants exploded within the premises of a police station, here in main town Pulwama on Thursday.
The injured policemen, now stable, have been identified as ASI Ali Muhammad and Constable Adnan Bashir. They were treated at Pulwama district hospital.
As per police reports, the incident took place at about 10:30 in the morning.
“A grenade exploded with a loud bang within the premises of our station and left two policemen injured,” a senior police official told Kashmir Reader.
He said that the injured policemen were now out of danger.
Following the explosion, the area was cordoned off and searches were carried out to nab the attackers, who had managed to flee by then.
Meanwhile in neighbouring Kulgam district, police claimed to have arrested a youth planning to carry out grenade attacks on police stations on behest of Hizb and Lashkar.
A police statement said that they arrested a youth, Roshan Zameer Bhat, son of Muhammad Amin, resident of Nowpora Frisal, in the district following credible leads.
“He confessed to have acquired a Chinese grenade through unlawful means to carry out the attack. The grenade has been recovered,” the statement read.
Police claimed that the attacks would have been carried out with an aim to snatch weapons.
“A case has been lodged and further investigation is going on,” the statement read.
