SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference on Thursday said that while Jammu Bar Association “with active support of members of INC and Panthers Party” were enforcing Bandh and taking out rallies in favour of rapists and murderers of minor Asifa, the state administration and police were acting like mute spectators.
The amalgam in a statement said while government forces take no time to empty cartridges of their guns and pellets while dealing with peaceful protestors on Kashmir streets, the “shameful duplicity” of PDP-BJP regime has once again come to fore as they allowed the goons and fanatics a free run in Jammu.
“Kashmir’s pro-freedom leadership is not even allowed to register their condemnation and protest against the brutal killings of civilians or visit the families to express condolence and share grief but is instead put behind bars or placed under illegal house detention,” the amalgam said, adding, that government feels no remorse in blowing up residential structures, torching shops and showering bullets and pellets at peaceful protestors.
The conglomerate said Kashmiri people especially youth are being killed “as part of genocide” by forces. “It seems there is no end to killings as Delhi wants to continue with its iron-first policy in Kashmir to force people and pro-freedom leadership into submission. But the government of India will have to give up its obstinacy and resolve the issue one day.”
The amalgam condemned house detention of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani and detaining Muhammad Yasin Malik in central jail Srinagar
